What we offer

The drop-in

babyMondays, 1:30 to 3:00 during English schools term-time
The Children’s Centre, Ladywell Place, Berwick-upon-Tweed

All welcome! A drop-in session for mums, dads, mums-to-be, babies and toddlers. Our popular drop-in is a really friendly way to meet other people and share experiences, and should you want it you will find professional advice and lots of encouragement.

One-to-one support
We are very proud of our ‘Buddy’ service, which supports families from all over the Berwick area. A trained, experienced breastfeeding mother can support you throughout your feeding experience, offering a friendly ear and confidential help. From preparing for the arrival of your baby through all the stages of breastfeeding, even how to stop feeding, your Buddy can offer advice and reassurance.

For specialist help the Infant Feeding Cooordinator for Northumberland Care Trust can meet you at the drop-in (see above) or visit you at home for one-to-one support.

mother and babyYou can ask your midwife, health visitor or GP to refer you, or you can contact us yourself on 07990 918947, or email us direct. We like to speak to you before your baby is due as often women need most support when their baby is very young. Making contact early means you have as much information as you need in the first few days after your baby is born. It’s never to late, though, and even if you have been feeding for a while and would like more support, do get in touch or come along to our drop-in.

Buddy training
If you are a breastfeeding mother (or have been in the past) and feel you would like to become a Buddy, do contact us as we run free training courses and always welcome people who want to get involved.
