About the group
BreastfeedingBerwick is a registered charity, established in 2003 by a group of women in the Berwick-upon-Tweed area with experience of breastfeeding. It is run by a committee of volunteers and health professionals. Through regular training we stay up to date with current research and national policies.
BreastfeedingBerwick promotes and encourages breastfeeding, by:
- supporting breastfeeding women and helping them to continue to breastfeed for as long as they wish to;
- helping to increase the number of breastfeeding women; and
- informing the wider community of the benefits of breastfeeding.
BreastfeedingBerwick works in partnership with SureStart and health professionals, sharing current information and resources and making these accessible to all pregnant and breastfeeding women.
We welcome new committee members and volunteers who have time and experience to offer, so do contact us if you would like to become involved.
As someone new to the area I was made to feel really welcome at the drop-in, and since then I've made
